As one of the founding partners of the business, I am quietly proud that in just 10 very enjoyable years and after a lot of hard work for our clients, we have built an exciting business from scratch to fill a gap that no other consulting firm fills.
When we founded the group in 2001, we were ambitious. We set out to provide fresh ideas, practical help and perceptive analysis to the world’s leading financial institutions and professional firms.
There are three ingredients to our approach. First, we focus exclusively on one set of businesses, namely, firms that sell advice to clients - whether in asset management, banking, property, commercial law, accountancy or consulting. We work exclusively in what we call the advisory sector.
Second, we question the tired mantras that have been peddled for years to the management and business development and marketing teams of advisory businesses. Advisory firms are different to other types of businesses – they share a unique set of challenges and we’ve spent the last 10 years developing successful strategies for these businesses.
Third, all our projects involve a deep analysis of the clients of our clients. We find that this is the best starting point to shape a strategy or to solve any significant operational issue. We take a client focused approach – or as we like to say, a client-centric approach.
Each day, across the different parts of the group, our consultants and analysts are asked to consider an array of issues. One thing remains constant; our focus on delivering this client-centric dimension to the thinking of our clients.
As we move in to our second decade, we will not lose any of the spark and enthusiasm that have been integral part of what we do for our clients and we look forward to a bright and interesting future.
